Dumb question

I'm sorry if this is a "RTFM" question but I can't find TFM.

I'm one of those who has started to have frequent problems with getting messages saying that the system has lost power & entered sleep mode--data losss may have occurred.

In my case I suspect there may be a problem with the main battery contacts & I want to take it out, clean & replace. The catch is that I am also one of those with the flaky backup battery power monitoring, so I don't fully trust the backup battery to preserve my files. I have backed up the Axim, but would prefer to avoid the hassle (& possibility of glitches) of restoring, if I can help it.

Is it safe to have the Axim plugged in without the battery pack in place?

Thanks.

Yep! Ido it all the time. I did it more when I had two axims and only one battery.
