Axim 5 Acting up

I have a problem with my Axim 5, I dropped it while it was on,
and the battery came out of it. When I powered it on, it gave a message that said hit the contact key to cleared the memory or hit the e mail key to cancelled, I hit the cancel key and nothing happen, I shut it off and put it back on and the same thing happened. I decided to cleared the memory. After that I powered it on and thats when started acting very slow. I again did a hard reset and restored everything from my back up. Now it only works when I press both sides of the Axim at the same time, but when I do that I can hear it click everytime I press it. If I dont press both sides theres no way to click on the screen and make it work. Any input will be gladly appreciated, Thanx Jorge A Lamb.

Sounds to me like a Hardware/Physical problem after dropping it. Perhaps the Screen contacts (there are three of them) might have come unclamped or loosened up.

The only way to know is to open it up and take a look.

DELL DOES NOT REPAIR PDAs

If you got Complete Care, you might be covered if you word your warranty request very carefully. (might even pass muster in regular warranty, depending on how & what you tell them.........but that's a personal decision on your part).

There are places that do repair Axims, but they're fairly expensive. You could probably get another one on eBay for the same or less than the repair might cost you.

.
.

ps; All that stuff you entered under the dashed line, should go in your Signature.

Go to the top of any AximSite Page and MouseOver Forums > Select Control Panel > Click on Edit Profile link and put all your info in there.

Avatars are under Control Panel > Edit Options > Scroll all the way to the bottom.
