audio book

am a new user of aximX5 wud to to post
the following:-
can I listen to audio book using Media PLayer if possible HOW???
pls give proceduer from PC to Device
hoe much memory is needed for one hour of listening time

One way to do it is to obtain any book on CD, then you can easily use Media Player on your desktop to convert the CD to WMA, then transfer to your axim.

Another way is to get books through Audible.com.

Try Audible.com. It requires a different player which Audible provides. Pretty neat.

well the media player will play mp3's just fine..does for me anyway.

the "how" is that I just use the explore device option from activsync and copy the mp3's to where I want them, usually on my SD card. If I am looking at a long trip them I just copy them to my 512meg CF card. Big difference between audio books and music as well, audio books have a lot of "silence" that compresses very nicely, a 512 card could hold 20hrs easy.


The how much space it takes really depends on the quality you are looking for, I have seen mp3's recording rates vary from 48kbits to 192kbits.
With my ears and headphones 64kbits is more than enough...some folks can tell the difference tho :-)

You are right. I forgot that Audible also plays on Microsoft Reader.
