action button

I was considering buying Chopper Alley for a diversion as it is now on sale for 4.99, but Handango had this disclaimer:

Warning! Chopper Alley will only function properly if your PDA has an Action Button (usually in the centre of the Directional Pad, or just below). Certain Dell Axim's require a patch to be applied for the Action Button to work. Contact your Dell Support Centre on how to obtain such an upgrade.

I'm unclear, does anybody know what this means?

On the X5, the action button works by pushing the directional pad down at the center. You will feel and hear a click. The early ROM versions on the X5 did not allow the D pad to function. So if you have an early one and have not yet updated your ROM, you will need to do that.

I am using original ROM, and here I thought there was no compelling reason to update ;)
