PDA with external microphone jack?

Are there any PDAs that have an external microphone jack? That seems like a useful thing to have and I've heard that the ARM processor would support it.

I wonder if this will ever become a standard feature on PDAs?

I guess it might be possible to rig up a microphone with BlueTooth, but it seems like it would be better just to have a jack.

It is also possible to use a CF microphone like this one.

I saw the CF microphone adaptor. Seems expensive and clunky. Just a simple built-in microphone jack would be nice.

That would be very useful indeed. Especially if you were going to take advantage of the audio recording often. I personally have never much cared for the sound quality of the recorded audio on the Dell Axim I use. Maybe this would kick it up a notch.

you could do it yourself, just re-solder the mic input on the axim onto a 3.5mm jack, dremel a hole in the top panel of appropriate size and hot-glue it into place. a 5 min mod to save you a few bucks (voids your warranty, but any nerd worth his/her pocket protector does that 1 day after getting their ppc anyway)

Interesting idea. I wonder if anybody has actually done this? Don't know that I'd have the guts to disassemble my Ax and do this, but it sounds feasible.

The Toshiba E800's headphone jack also supports an external microphone (so I hear, I haven't actually tried it). I think it is supposed to be for a headset when using the built in VOIP software for using it as a phone over the internet.
