Sadly, as much as I love my Axim X5, imma probably be switching to an Ipaq 6300 or Motorola MPX for its phone functionality, Bluetooth, built in Wi-Fi, and integrated camera. It's sad, considering everything I've bought for my Axim, but times do change, and I'm tired of carrying around both my pocket PC AND my phone.
While it's hard to let go, I believe new adventures await with my Windows Mobile 2003 SE equipped Pokcet PC phone.

As I said above I love my X5 Advanced. I also have a Toshiba e310 and e335. I would love to get the Toshiba 800 except for the fact it's made by Toshiba. The two Toshiba's I picked up on ebay. The e310 as a test device (32 mb memory with arm processor). The e335 I use in my car with my GPS.
What I have found is that Toshiba spits out PDA's and doesn't really support them after it releases them. Because of that I will never buy a Toshiba unless it's built in capabilities already do what I want and I can get it really really cheap.
I love my X5 advanced!
And the more I learn about it, the more I love it.
Most new toys (as my wife calls them) I buy I tend to use less and less as time goes on. But with my axim it is right the opposite.
It is one great machine.

nope, can't stand it, absolutely the worst piece of equipment I have ever laid eyes on. Dell should have paid me to get it from them, it's that bad. Like, I ran over it with my car and the screen cracked, I mean what the hell. And when the battery dies, everything gets erased. it's so lame.

my x5 advanced will always be my mobile entertainment device even if i get a vga device later as long as its got life in it you cant beat the battery time what good is a device if you cant use it for more than 2-3 hrs ?
I love the x5. I've just bought the advance version which I'm hoping is going to be better. I've heard it is. The only thing I find with the x5 is the dodgy voice prompts on the tom tom nav when you use it for the first time, but I'm sure thats just down to the tom tom software. :approve:
Please explain about playing nintendo with your Axim?????:approve:

You can watch movies or play nintendo for longer than any other device for the price. Plus no one else has the 2 card slots for more games and movies (at this price and battery life).
I challenge anyone to get me the same functionality, battery life and expandability for $175.
I guess I'd have to say, I have really been extremely satisfied with the X5 on many levels. I use it to replace my laptop when I travel, I keep my flight schedule, presentation materials, power point presentations that I will be presenting, email, MP3 library for entertainment, and a plethora of other useful items. I have an OEM portable keyboard, a modem, and a Flypresenter VGA and remote control unit so I can project powerpoint presentations right up on a screen while controlling with an IR remote unit. It is terrific in nearly every respect. Now, I have been disappointed in the software makers inability to get programmers onboard to develop software. I have been exceedingly disappointed that there isn't a decent Powerpoint developer capability for use on the PPC. I recently found one but, it is so slow that it isn't practical to use. Also the inability to sinc my MS Access databases on the PPC is a waste, and the fact that I am locked in to MS outlook for my desktop suite is equally frustrating. (My old Palm product had a terrific desktop software suite that I wish I could use with my PPC.) That being said, dollar for dollar, there is no handheld computer that I know of that can touch the Acim 5X for speed, features, memory options, and accessories. If anyone out there knows of any solutions to these minor irritations that I have expressed, please, by all means post them!:)
