Yup, love my X5. Now, that doesn't mean I wouldn't trade it off for other devices...
I'm waiting for some more options in 'converged' devices running PPC/WM. The current PPC's with cellphone capability don't interest me, or are just too much $$.
Either that, or if someone would develop a 'sleeve' (ala Ipaq's) with a battery and can drive a PCMCIA wireless card...that would keep me and my X5 together for quite a while. :D
I love my X5. It is the most used item I'd ever purchased. At the same level, NO, I would not exchange it for anything. I know some people have problem with X5's size and weight, not an issue for me. The only time X5 blinked out on me was due to a software problem, it has never failed me. Don't have problem with wireless connection either, after I read the very informative tutorial and postings here. Took the advices offered here, I didn't get a Sandisk SD card, so I'd never had a problem with SD. My X5 is perfect. Dell sold me an item exactly as the way it was advertised.
My need is getting pretty close to exceeding X5's limit so I am looking around for my next device. But my X5 is perfect :D.
I love my X5 and wouldn't trade it for any other PDA on the market today. I would like to see more onboard memory, but then you can't have everything. I use it about two hours a day every day of the week.
would not trade it now! But in the future anything can happen. I'm one of the lucky ones that has two 256 meg sandisk SD cards that work great in the X5! Also a 1 Gig CF card from Sandisk!
Any new device to be considered in the future MUST have two card slots!!!

You can watch movies or play nintendo for longer than any other device for the price. Plus no one else has the 2 card slots for more games and movies (at this price and battery life).
I challenge anyone to get me the same functionality, battery life and expandability for $175.
Love mine! Would only upgrade for more internal memory, but it would have to have the dual memory ports; ie CF and SD . I use it way more than I thought I would.
I`m glad I choose the A5 over the X3 - so much more to do with it with the 2 slots - would`nt change for anything in this price level

I do miss the dual CF slots I had with my iPAQ 3835 and MemPlug sleeve. Having three slots available all the time was really very useful, for instance in transferring large files from an external hard drive to a memory card while using a modem, stuff like that. If a device comes along with dual SD slots and a CF slot, with at least one of the SD slots having I/O functionality, I'd be seriously tempted. The old iPAQ is very unreliable now, with a weak battery and bad backlight (I know, there's a kit with battery and inverter board to fix this, but investing further in a cantankerous old machine seems unwise), frequent spontaneous hard resets, and flakey power charging characteristics (it often can't tell when I've jacked in the AC adapter).
Other reasons could also draw me away from the X5, like VGA and great battery performance in one device... especially if that device had at least dual slots and an integrated GSM/GPRS phone module. But or now, the X5 will have to do, as I'm broke.
I did love my Ax but I've outgrown it and now have an Ipaq 4150. I got the Ipaq as they were going for £250 which was much cheaper than the X3i which I looked at.
At this point I'm missing the jog dial and the screen quality (Ipaqs have a yellowish tinge)......:rolling:
