Screen and communication problems

I have continually been having problems with my screen not responding to taps. However, if I tap in the right top corner the bottom right menu's (input menu w/ keyboard, transcriber, etc.) will respond. It has been a progressive problem. I performed a hard reset and the problem went away, but not it is back and worse than ever. Soft resets seldom help, and I don't want to perform another hard reset to end up back in the same place.

Has anyone had a similar problem? I have PPC 2002.

I should note all of contacts and data were reloaded with the restore if it matters.

Have you tried to allign the screen?

Also, do you have a screen protector on your axim or have it in a case that is putting pressure on the screen? Both could cause your problem.

I was using screen protectors for a while, but the screen seemed to respond better recently without. Also, I have it in the soft leather case it came in.

I have realigned the screen, but it seems at random when it decides to not work and reassign the top corner to the bottom.

Guys,

Some people with various screen protectors find that if they have too much dust under the screen, it creates a premature point of contact (so it always seems like a portion is be touched to the PDA).

Hope this helps,

Screen Software problem

I think at this point it is more a software problem than a hardware. My reasoning is that although the screen doesn't work, I can use any of the buttons to bring up a program. And if I use the record button for an random recording, about 75% of the time the screen will work for about a minute following after I delete the recording. Also, when I try to align the screen, it will contintually kick me back to the beginning of the align sequence as soon as I finish it. I've aligned the screen about 40 times in succession which leads me to believe something in the software keeps changing the alignment.

I'm not that familiar with PPC2002, but maybe someone else has had this problem.

Screen Problems

Hi there. I have the same problem with my Axim X5. Did you ever get this problem sorted?

There are numerous posts and threads about the screen. Most are fixed by:

1. Making sure the frame is not touching the screen.
2. Making sure the screen protector has not slid under the screen.
3. Covering a small wear spot on a mylar connector to the screen (search for "mylar" and you'll see the thread.)
4. Loosening the six screws that hold the case together slightly to reduce pressure on the screen.

I'd try that sequence.
