Trouble syncing X5 with Office 2003

I recently upgraded my office suite to Office 2003. And since then my axim will not stay up to date with my Outlook. ActiveSync works just fine for files but as I get new email or open/delete email ActiveSync will not sync my axim. The only way to get this to happen is to reset the axim in the cradle and it only works sometimes.

Anyone experience this or have any idea how I can get it fixed?

Maybe reinstall AS. There is a "second" version 3.7.1 (which is listed as build 4034) so if you're not running that then now is a good excuse.
