program for soft reboot

I was it on a thread and for the life of me, can't locate it again.

I recieverd my V5 about a month ago and am test driving all the software to pick what works for me prior to purchance. It seems like most of my software uninstalles were not complete until I prefomed a soft reboot.

A member stated in an unrelated thread that there was a freeware program that allowed you to soft boot with out sticking the thingy in the hole.

Thanks in advance

There's a program out there that will allow you to either shutdown or restart your Axim, just like you would see on Windows XP. I'm not sure on the website, but if you email me, I will send you the file. I think maybe something you want.

Here's a link to a freeware app that I have been using. It pops up a PowerOff and Restart (soft reset) screen that looks just like Windows XP.

Here is another reset option:

http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/Other.asp

This small exe performs a soft reset. For people who don't like the tiny reset button. A warning window is displayed to confirm you want to reset, use "reset /s" for a silent reset (no warning).

Just put it in your programs dir and create a shortcut for it.

BTW, AltTab (at the same URL) is pretty cool too. You can map a button to it so that you can easily cycle thru your open apps.

Here's one of my favorite freeware programs that does what you're looking for, and a whole lot more. Give it a try.

I lost this link and when I looked for it I could only find the newer version on Handago.com. It costs about $6., but was worth it for me. Not necessary, though, as it (the freeware version linked above) worked perfectly with my Axim.
