In another forum a user posted that he contacted Dell Tech. Support about the I/O capabilities and the rep replied that only SD I/O devices from Dell are gareentied (sp?) to work.

So, has anybody actually tried plugging a SD I/O device into an Axim?

AS far as I know, the Axim in not and SD I/O compatable device. In other words, you can only use memory in the SD slot and you'll be using the CF slot for I/O devices.

That was my understanding as well, and from what I've been reading about Dell tech support in this forum and others, I wouldn't believe a word of what they have said. It doesn't sound like many of them have even seen the Axim, let alone read the manual, etc.

I didn't think the SD slot was I/O compatible yet. I read that somewhere a couple of days ago. I have also never seen an I/O device that would even fit in it.

Everbody assumes that it isn't compatable, but has anyone actually tried? Surely someone has easy access to an SD I/O that they could pop in an Axim to see what happens.

I used to be among those repeating that the Axim is not compatable with SD I/O, but stumbling across that post (whether it was incorrect or not) made me wonder.
