Question Write on ROM

I would to know if it's possible to put a soft I made in ROM to store it even the battery failed.

I know that AXIM X5 have flashable Rom. ALso is there any soft which do this.

For as far as I know ROM stands for Read Only Memory.
The Idea is that nothing cant be written by the user in the ROM area.

There is a way to actually write data to the ROM and that FLASHING but it meant only for version updates and in any case its not "writing" in the regular manner as the we ( the users ) do.

however there is a backup software include in the AXIM X5. I hink it write everthing you want to backup in the rom memory.

Are you able to do this with your pocket pc ?

Built In Storage is a part of ROM. Dell provides, as a part of the OS, the utility to write to that left over space. It does survive a hard reset. So you could simply copy your software to that area and accomplish the objective of surviving a hard reset. The registry would be destroyed and recreated in the hard reset, so the software would need to be re-installed if it depends on registry entries, but if the file in BIS is the installer, or if it runs independently, that should work.

Of course, if you are good at editing software, you could hop in and re-write the rom so that it included your software, and then you could give it to your freinds as well...thats just a thought though...something i wish i could do
