Please Help - Installing Woe's....

I just got my Axim A5. I've been trying for the past 3 hours to sync my PPC to my PC. My PC is a Dell with XP Home. ActiveSync is installed fine. When I try to connect is always says it cannot find the device. I'm connecting through a USB port. I've gone through the help files. I've restarted and restarted and restarted! Am I the only one having these problems? All I want is for things to work!

mando, when you put the Axim in the cradle or on the cable does the PC find it? Look under device manager to see if you have an entry for "Windows CE USB Devices" and under that "DELL AXIM USB Sync." If they are not there, you are not connecting. It's probably because you don't have the Dell drivers installed. Try another USB port, and if you are using a hub, change to a port on the PC itself.

Also, on the Axim, not connected, start Activesync and look at Tools>Options and make sure the top box is checked and says "USB Default."

I have a bit of a similar problem. I can usually sync fine, the only issue I have is if Activesync disconnects for any reason the only way I can reconnect is by turning the ax off then back on. If I ever try *Get Connected* in activesync it always tells me that no device was detected. Does anyone know whats up with that?

I tried again this morning to sync up and for some unknown reason, it worked. I even managed to transfer an Mp3 file to my Axim. I don't know what I did differently last night than I did this morning, but it's working now. I'm sure I'll have more problems becuase that's just my luck, but I'm just glad things worked and I know there isn't a problem with my software.

Next thing on my agenda is to install the drivers for my foldable keyboard. Hope that works!
