mando, when you put the Axim in the cradle or on the cable does the PC find it? Look under device manager to see if you have an entry for "Windows CE USB Devices" and under that "DELL AXIM USB Sync." If they are not there, you are not connecting. It's probably because you don't have the Dell drivers installed. Try another USB port, and if you are using a hub, change to a port on the PC itself.
Also, on the Axim, not connected, start Activesync and look at Tools>Options and make sure the top box is checked and says "USB Default."
