Need a home-network syncing solution..

Ok the thing is, I access my outlook data from both my PC downstairs and my bedroom pc so I store the .pst in a different box, which I use like the file server for our home network and I use vnc to administer the file server.

Problems:
Activesync isnt letting me sync the inbox from both pc's only the downstairs one because that is the primary partnership.

A possible solution is just to do wifi sync with the file-server, but there lies another problem because I havent found a way to make activesync automatically check for mail instead of having to open the outlook and clicking the "send/recieve". Which of course if I keep outlook open, then I cant open the same .pst with other pc's because only one connection is allowed at a time

So any solutions?
If anybody has a setup like this give me some ideas please :)

Use the "sync with server" option in ActiveSync instead of the desktop option ;-)

Delete the partnership on the PC you currently sync with and then setup a new partnership and select sync with two PC's when you set it up. Do the same on the other PC and you should be able to sync with both machines.

Since installing ActiveSync also enables pass-through network access, you could also try setting up a VPN server on your "primary PC" and then configure your Ax to connect to your primary PC via VPN. You may need to use Pocket Hosts to teach the Axim the correct (local) IP address of that primary PC and change your PPC ActiveSync to sync with that PC during manual syncs, but once that is done you should be able to sync only with your primary PC regardless of which PC on your home network you are using, so you should be able to sync your e-mails with your desktop Outlook in either case.

I have never tried out this scenario myself, but in theory it should work ... You may need to disable the automatic sync when cradled since you don't want the Ax to sync with the second PC but rather to piggyback on its network connection and sync with the primary PC instead.

You could also (if you have wireless) set up the Ax to sync wirelessly to your primary PC - you won't need to use the cradle at all!
