Question Is it safe to do?

A few months back, I sent my X5 back to Dell for the screen issue of not responding. The one I sent to them had WM2002 on it, and the one they sent me has WM2003. Now I did purchase the upgrade for WM2003 and tried it out, so I have a ROM backup of WM2002 from my old X5. Would it be safe to flash that older ROM onto an X5 that was shipped with WM2003 on it?

Thanks

But I guess my next question is (and I should have clarified this on my original post) Can you flash an older ROM from one device to another? Or is the ROM not linked to that devices serial number or date produced etc...?

The ROM's are device-specific. You would need a ROM for an X5 to put onto an X5. You would not be able to use a ROM from an X3 or X30 as they have different hardware.

Also, the X5 ROM's are different based on whether it's a 400Mhz or 300Mhz unit, so those have to be matched as well...
