Worried Can't make email notification blink

After digging through all the archives here where people were complaining that they couldn't get their power button light to *not* blink, I'm having the opposite problem:

I cannot get the light to blink (or to get the Axim to make an alert sound) when new unread mail appears in my inbox.

The alert light /sound works just fine for alarms. I can turn it on or off and change the sounds it makes for alamrs.

I've tried every setting several times, tried changing the sound, tried switching between blink and not blink, tried several soft resets (I really don't want to hard reset but will try it as a last resort).

I've also tried both getting new email via sync/outlook, and directly from a pop3 server, but it never blinks or makes a sound.

The "Today" screen shows when a new mail arrives -- something is just not telling the light to blink when that happens.

Does anyone have any suggestions at alll?

I have found that you have to have mail running in the background and wait till at least 2 messages remain unread before you'll get any notification at all. If you stay in the mail program, I don't think you get any notification of new mail at all.

Maybe somebody can point us to how to tweak this.

And also, I wonder for those of you who have the 2 windows open at the same time capability (I believe there's a program for this) get the notification or a flashing tab when new mail arrives? If so, what program are you using for the multiple windows capability for this?

OK, so it's not just me then. That's good to know. I tried sending myself 4 messages right now. I'll see what happens.

Worried

Nope. That didn't work. Still nothing. It seems to me that Dell needs to patch this as it's probably their own software that is supposed to make the light blink.

I tried the same thing...sent myself 4 messages and told the inbox email app to automatically check messages every two minutes. When it poped my server the Axim made an alert sound and popped up an alert saying I had 4 unread messages but the light did NOT flash. Hell that light is so dim I can hardly see it when it does light up!

new info:

if I'm on wireless and getting email that way, and it is NOT hooked to the charger, then I get both the audible alarm, and the blink.

If it *is* hooked to the charger I get nothing.

Now that is strange as I am on wireless and am not on the charger so mine should light!

I fixed it. I didn't have the light flashing for the email event. After enabling it I begun to flash.

Todd

LOL - It won't turn off now! I was under the impression that the LED would stop flashing when the mail was read. I guess it has to time out before it turns off. :crooked:
