Just venting my frusrations! My Axim was fine for the first week, and yesterday it starting freezing during sync and then several times I had to do a hard boot. Thought everything was fine after resyncing last night, took it to work today to go about my business, it was fully charged, and it would'nt even turn on!!!!!!!!!! :o No soft boot, no hard boot. DEAD! I've been on the phone waiting for Dell or 80 minutes. I'm frustrated! Anyone else have this problem or any suggestions!!!!!!!!!!!!

(I did'nt add anything to it, don't use the email yet, just basic functions)

I'm sure you have tried this but remove all the batteries, replace it and try again. Just a thought.

Are you sure the battery was charged? Sounds like a bad battery to me. Just out of curiosity, why were you doing a hard boot when it froze? Didn't a soft one work? That might have been the culprit also.

Thanks for your replies. I had'nt tried removing both batteries. I just did, and it is still lifeless! I did the hard boot because I am not getting any response from it at all.

The green light is on, all looks fine, in and out of cradle, it will not turn on, nor will it hard or soft boot. I'm afraid we must have a burial. :(

Guess I'll have to go Aximless this weekend and send for a replacement Monday.

Got a voltmeter? I would check the output of your main battery if nothing is happening when you go to turn it on. It should be 5.4 VDC if I'm not mistaken.

Mickster, does activesync see it in the cradle? If so, the problem is the screen, not the CPU. Not that that fixes anything, it just gives you a better feel for your problem. If you can explore it from activesync, it's running, you just can't see it!

Thank You. No, the activesync says not connected. It won't respond even though it is in the cradle. In the cradle, the green light is on, when I remove it from the cradle, and push the button, nothing, not even red. EIther way, no response other than the light turns on in the cradle.

Well, sounds like a call to Dell is in order for a replacement. Good luck.

Let's have a moment of silence over the dearly departed Axim.......sorry about that Mickster. As a famous TV doctor says, "He's dead, Jim." :(

You got a week further than we did! My wife's didn't start from the get go. We bought two, let the batteries charge overnight and then tried to turn 'em on. Mine worked. hers didn't.

Of course, then she got to suffer through 2.5 hours (mostly on hold) with the Dell customer nonservice department.

We did get the new one, but they never got us the information for returning the original junker.

I like my Axim, but will be reluctant to use Dell again after the poor service I have had to endure (there is much more to my story).
