I cannot view Avantgo Channells ]]]]

Am using windows XP but I cant view avantgo channels on my device, why?
First I don't see a check box for avantgo in the options from active sync on my desktop.I see other options like file,favourites,contacts,calender but not avantgo. I tried removing and reinstalling active sync on my desktop but its the same problem.

Back in the states when I used my friend's Desktop with windows 98 I saw the checkbox for avantgo and was able to view avantgo on my device, but not on XP here at home .WHY?
