Question ON & OFF & ON & OFF !!! grrrr... help!

i dont know what happened, but my axim x5 keeps on and off...

first it shows the DELL blue logo, then my information, then reboots to DELL logo again and my information... again and again!

any suggestions? or do i have to call DELL and ask for replacement?

my warranty is good for only a year... grrr

Did you back up your data? If so, I would suggest doing a hard reset, but maybe someone in here knows a better solution than I do.

Sounds like something in your startup routine is forcing a soft reset. I had problems with a today plug-in that did that, but only on certain days. I got past it by initiating a hard reset with the buttons, but answering NO to the question about was I sure I wanted to do that and aborting the hard reset. The result was a booted Axim with the date set to April 2003, as I recall. From there I was able to remove the offending program, reset the date to the proper date and soft-reset again to get everything back to normal.

just a suggestion... try cleaning your hardware buttons. maybe one of them got stuck. just like with the scrren sometimes when there's moist, it's like tapping and holding by itself just like on the keyboard of a computer.

thanks! i noticed that my RESET button got stucked! i remove the rubber on the left side of pda then do a hard-reset...

now my problem is that my CONTACTS are messed up... categories messed up and there are duplicates... right now, im doing a RESTORE from activesync... hope everything would come back to normal!

the DELL INDIA tech support guys sucks! they dont know nothin'

and i talked to DELL, and they would replace my unit for $200!

Haha! There you go! Problem solved! That's the best solution!

Have it sent back to Dell to be replaced!

Try to see if they can send you an X5 with Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition... but I doubt it :)
