Aluminum Case for Axim

Here is the link I received in an email about this new metal deluxe case for Dell Axim.

Check it out...looks pretty good if it's the type of case you're looking for.

Glad I didn't order the sena case (although that is also a nice 'un). I've ordered this aluminum case. Looks real nice!

Thanks for the heads up.

That's the same here. I wanted the blue/black sena...but being as it was backordered, I really didn't wanna fool with placing an order (and my $$$) on something I might not see for some time.

Glad I waited.

Which one do you think (sena or aluminium) offer you more protection when you drop the Axim?

Just a strong hunch...but likely the sena, with its cloth covering, will provide more shock-absorption in the event of a drop. However, what can I say...I'm hoping I won't drop it.

But at the same time, the aluminum case, IMO, will be easier to keep clean of dust, etc. Other "positive" to aluminum is its incredibly thin (but again...at the cost of shock-absorbtion).

Here is a copy of an email reply I received on the status of available ship dates; looks like mid-march. Pretty impressive case and seems to be easier by appearence to get out for use in the cradle then the Sena.

Here is our Dell Axim metal case web link :

As for the shock protection, the case is Neoprene lined inside, so supposedly it should distribute any shock evenly around the axim..

With this type of case enclosure, is it possible to still use the docking cradle or the folding keyboard?

I think this case looks kewl, but I don't like the fact that the door opens from left to right. Most ppl are right handed and I think it may get in the way?

Why that side?

Thanx for pointing out that the case opens from the the opposite side. I did not pay attention to that until I saw your post Brooks. Although the case looks awesome, the way it opens gives me reservations.

Yeah, I was considering ordering this until I noticed it opend the wrong way (for me at least).

They should really give an option of which side it opens from, I also wonder if it will be difficult to hold, as you can't really get your hand around the AXim.

I'm in no rush, more cases will be coming out.
