Worried Lotus Notes synchronization?

Just got my Axim 5 and looking forward to using it!

I see the unit comes with Microsoft Activesynch for use with Outlook synchronization, however I use Lotus Notes and had used Intellisync to interact with my laptop. Does anyone know if Microsoft Activesynch supports Lotus Notes or if the Intellisync simply replaces the need for Activesynch?

You will still need to use Active Sync. A/S is actually the connection software between the device and software. You will need to install Intellisync on top of it. Our company is on Notes, and we are in the process of upgrading to version 6. Intellisync does not have a version on the market yet for 6.

After reading other folks responses on here, I have decided to use mNotes (Cadenza) from Commontime. We are probably going to move to this software on all our Palm devices and all new Axim's we get in.

Hopefully this helps.

:p

There are 2 options that I am aware of Commontime's Cadenza mNotes and Pylon Pro.

I have been using Cadenza to synch to my work account, it works as billed. I have used PylonPro with a Palm and would imagine the PPC version works just as well.

Cadenza will allow you to synch to your desktop PC or a Domino server running the Cadenza server. I have been using the desktop and can synch in the cradle or wirelessly with a CF card.

Good luck

While using Cadenza mNotes, has anyone had a problem with Inbox saving attached files? Mine does not work at all. Besides that, Cadenza is the best option.

kmaford, how did you set it up to replicate with the desktop? I wanted to do that, but the only database it would accept was the Domino server. I don't think you need the Cadenza server to sync to the server because we don't and I do. :p But I can't get it to sync with the local replica of my mail.

I just bought an Axim X30. I've read most of the posts regarding syncing with Lotus Notes.

I've installed Activsync and am able to copy files to the Axim. I've downloaded and attempted to install the Cadenza mNotes trail version but get an error msg that "the system could not find the device or file specified". I haven't downloaded Intelisync. I understand I need mNotes so Win Mobile 2003 can read the Lotus, but still don't understand why I need both Activsync AND Intelisync, and frankly am not real thrilled with the thought of having to spend $70 for mNotes and another $70 for Intelisync after already spending a bundle on the Axim.

Isn't there another way to do this? I'm seriously considering sending the Axim back to Dell and dusting off my old daytimer.
