shut down application

Does anyone know how to shut down an application after a speficied time? I have my axim playing mp3s but I want that app or (any other) shut down but to keep the power on. Racking my brains on this one. Please let me know if you have info.

You can go to start, then settings, then system, then pick icon for memory, then go to running programs. From here you can choose which programs to close or close all of them. I hope this helps.
