Re-solved but not nice
I ended up doing a hard reset.

Starting from scratch after two years of using the Axim wasn't such a bad idea. All freshly reinstalled, garbage gone, Knowing a lot more then 2 years ago I knew to be careful what to install.

A similar file exisits on the win PC platform. I had problems with it some time back and ended up renaming the file extension to a random type and then deleting it. It was recreated on start up.
