Reader Problems

I had to do a hard reset and my backup didn't include everything.
I reinstalled my reader and then some books. When I click on the reader it sometimes shows that I have some books, other times it shows that the reader is empty and sometimes it shows I have all the books I have installed. The last several times it shows that it is empty but behind the reader book screen is the last book I clicked on and I can access that book. I have 256sd memory in the memory slot but I am really not sure where the reader is storing it's books. I would be most appreciative if some one knows how to correct this problem.
