changing backup battery

I've had my X5 for about 2 years and noticed the backup battery is about 60%. If I want to replace it, can I get a new one at Radio Shack, etc. ro do I need to go to Dell?

You can get them anywhere..
I like to buy them from Frys (dunno if you have those around you) but they go for about $1.20 each.. radioshack should sell for about $3..

Its a standard 3V CR2032

Yes, they are cheap and abundant, I would say average price is $3 per battery. I'd pick a few up so you're well stocked up! :approve:

Don't buy more than one. Batteries have a shelf life.

So you only buy a 2-pack of AA batteries at a time? ;)

...nah-me-man.........I use rechargeables (AAA, AA, C, D & 9V).

But he's right about multiple CR2032s (or any non-rechargeable battery).......they begin to degrade from the moment of manufacture. So that second battery in that 2-Pack prolly won't be up to full Voltage by the time you get around to using it.

Which means it won't last as long as the first one, so you're gonna go out and buy another 2-Pack sooner than you will if you only buy singles, as needed..

I was just havin' some fun, they do degrade, but that's true, if you whack one be a power loss, you'll have another fresh one in your kitchen (or office) drawer! :approve:

Thanks for the information. Perfect timing! My A5 has been giving me this low backup battery warning for several days now and I wasn't sure what battery to buy.
