Arrow Where does the Axim ship from?

I'm going to order an Axim in the next week, but I am curious as to where it ships from. I live in Austin, TX and it would be a waste for me to pay extra for overnight shipping if it comes from Austin or Round Rock, TX.

My Axim came from Salt Lake City. The accessories I ordered with it came from Austin.

Mine came from Nashville too. Of course I could have walked there and back in the time it took to get it.

Just kidding... ;)

Seriously, aren't they manufactured by a Taiwanese company?

I think you are right about the manufacturer, but I forget the name of the company.

Do you know if their Nashville location is simply a distribution warehouse or does some assembly take place there?

Just curious.

As far as I know, it is just one of their wharehouses. But, of course, I could be wrong. :D

My guess is that the AX is assembled in China or some other Asian country and pointed to a Port Of Entry near where you ordered it from. Thats how a lot of high tech stuff finds its way to US buyers.

Mine came from Nashville. Both Secaucus and Harrisburg are closer to my house, though (near Boston).

Mine shipped from a suburb of Toledo, OH. I live outside of Cleveland. I paid the extra $2 for second day air (not realizing it was coming from less than 120 miles away), and Dell shipped it GROUND anyway. This kind of pissed me off. They knew it would ship from within my state (that's why they charged me sales tax on it). The charged me the extra $2 for second day air, and never intended to ship it that way because they knew it would make it in 2 days going via ground.

I wouldn't waste the money on second day air. They seem to have enough distribution centers to cover most of the country, so you'll probably get it in two days using ground anyway.

Take care,

Gary
