Activesync - Can I delete a partnership on the PPC?

I lost a disk on my laptop and had to re-install activesync. Now I cannot even connect with AS and my Axim. Is there a way of resetting AS on the AXIM (delete a partnership?).

I am hoping to avoid a hard reset.

Any help is appreciated.

Do a search for partnership on this site. I have seen the info somewhere.

There is no partnership on my laptop since it is a new install. How do I reset the device without a Hard Reset?

Get a registry editor. Resco is good. I like PHM's too. Once installed, go here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\Partners

You'll find P1 and P2 there. Delete these subkeys. Soft reset. Should do the trick.

I just had the same event. I didn't have to delete the partnership on the Axim. When the new Activesync found the Axim, it prompted me on setting up a partnership, then indicated I had already established two partnerships and that I had to delete one to establish the new one. I deleted the old partnership with that machine and it worked just fine.

Guys, in a similar question..

Everytime I do a hard reset.. I have to set up a new partnership on my desktop (winXP)... is there anyway to avoid this? It says that I have to enter a new name for my device... :(

Also, how does one get rid of the partnerships already established on the desktop? Now when I right click, I have three additional options (from three hard resets) of "Send file to MyAxim Documents" or "PDA Documents" or "X30 Documents"...

Halp!

thanks

With the Axim disconnected, start A/S on the PC, then delete the un-used partnerships. Files/Delete Partnership should be un-greyed with the Ax disconnected.
