Where is AOL Pocket PC 2002?

Does anyone know when AOL is going to come out with software that works with Pocket PC 2002?

Hi,

There have been a couple of posts re AOL for PPC 2002. From what I gather there is an AOL UK site that has a program that works and is a free download. Sites in the US indicate that AOL for PPC isn't compatible with 2002. Confusing situation as far as I am concerned. I haven't performed a search YET because I don't have my Axim in hand yet. Once I sort through the beginning and get it set up I'll be insearch of the AOL for PPC 2002 as well. Maybe by then one of us will stumble across it.

I know this doesn't help but there are others in search of the same program and info.

The AOL software available on line only works with Pocket PC 2000. If you load it on a Pocket PC 2k2 (AXIM) and you use a modem it will disable any modem operation and the only recovery is a hard reset. It will work for some reason with a wireless connection ( I have no experience with a wireless connection this is only hearsay). Just don't do anything about setting up a modem connection or it will be hard reset time.
The program was also available from Handago for $20.
AOL is beta testing a new version that is Pocket PC 2k2 compatable but they are only testing it with a small group and are no longer accepting beta testers. I have no idea what there plan is for realsing this new version.

When and if AOL releases AOL 2.X it will allow login, email and internet access. It also supported downloading email for off line reading. I was a beta tester for AOL 2.0 which ran on the Pocket PC 2000 systems and it was a neat product. They also had a version of 2.0 that worked on the HP 56X series but it is not available any longer anywhere that I know of. The HP version would only load on the 56X it would not load on any other system.

I use AOL IM (UK Edition) with my wireless network. It works great.

I've got the UKHost for the Mobile section on AOL UK looking into it as we speak :)
