Hissing noise inside axim?

just lay your ear on the back of your axim above the battery.. switch the backlight off (press on/off for a few seconds) because that hums a bit..

whats that hissing? some kind of cpu cooling?? not that it is irritating because I cannot hear it while typing this message...

There have been quite a few reports of this. The concenus seems to be that it is the power supply for the back lighting. My Compaq laptop whined like that also.

Yes, sounds like you're talking about the backlight. Also, the IR port on the top-left of Axim make a similar noise when in use.

My motorola startac does the same thing. You really only hear it when it is completely silent in the house and when you have the phone's screen near your head. It seems to be a small power hum...like the way a neon sign buzzes or a transformer with some power running through it does. I'd say this is completely normal.
