Aximsite, Spam, and Firewalls?

Can everyone share their current expeirence with the site behind firewalls and with spam filters.

A huge amount of people have reported not receiving the validation emails. A few pointed out that their spam filter ate it.

- What proxy filter software are you guys/companies using.
- What Spam Protection?
- Why is Aximsite.com getting proxied and spam filtered??

Who knows.... May be the X? Heck I dunno.....

Chris,

Send me a sample validation email and I'll take a look at what could be triggering red flags...

My company uses Microsoft's Proxy 2.1 and ALL web traffic must go through that proxy before accessing any external web sites. That proxy also uses a package called "SmartFilter" that allows the company to filter out certain sites based on specific URL's, keywords, etc (no porn or NRA sites at work).

I have had no problem using this site or receiving emails.

I'm only a home-user but I thing I can also describe my settings :)

First, on every PC there's a software firewall - this blocks a lot.
You can for example block ports and it acts like a proxy for web and mail. You can filter mails with it and web sites. Many banner companies are already blocked by the firewall - you can everytime add new blocks.

After my PC data goes through my switch and then to my router.
In my router there's the second firewall - mainly for filtering ports, but you can also add other things.

This is very secure for me.

But if that's not enough for you you can easily connect a 2nd Software firewall between the internet connection (router) and the switch. There you can also filter what you like.

So most secure way:

PC with local firewall (also mail and web proxy) to filter spam/ads -> Switch -> if you like a gateway pc with another software filtering -> router (or internet access) with hardware firewall, for first blocking (mainly ports).

For the local firewall I like Norton.
as Gateway I'd use a PC with Linux/FreeBSD as it has a better performance and security.

Hope this helped you a little :)
