What accessories should I buy for a new Axim?

I want to buy a new Axim, and I wanted some unbiased and experienced advice. I am trying to figure out what base accessories I should buy, and what bells and whistles would be nice.

Should I buy the standard accessories from Dell or a 3rd party? My budget is about $600 ballpark. I will primarily be using my Axim in synch w/ my work laptop that's a Dell.

1.) What is the best card for wireless capabilties such as email?

2.) What is the best SD card to get? It seems the Sandisk card is a piece of crap. What options do I have if I want to store a 1 GB of MP3 files on my Axim.

3.) What is a SF card used for? I have heard of this used w/ digital cameras and a PC, but otherwise I don't know what the darn thing is used for.

4.) What is the best case for to carry the Axim?

5.) Do I need extra software to sync the pocket pc to my laptop?

6.) Are there any essential software programs that you find invaluable?

7.) What are some nice extras that make the Axim 'schmoking'? Extra software or hardware add-ons.

Thanks!:D

Hey redsoxbaby,

Read the following thread for some ideas on accesories and apps that some of the forum users have outfitted their Axims with. My more recent post in that thread outlines the apps I find essential.
If you have any further questions just post em and I am sure either myself or somone else will be more than happy to answer.

As for your other questions:

1.) There are a number of options but in this case Dell's TruMobile card is a pretty good choice.

2.)In my humble opinion stay away from Sandisk and stick with Viking, Lexar, Smart Media or even PNY.

3.)CF card tends to be a bit cheaper than SD so it is a bit more economic to purchase a large CF ccard to be used with MP3's, Movie files, pictures, games, etc...
Since you also have a SD slot that space is better suited for installing aps to. This keeps the units memory free for running programs.

4.)Case is all a matter of preference, but there are a number of options out there. Look through this and other forums for some ideas and opinions from other memberes.

5.)Extra software? No - just Activestink! ;)

6.)See the top of this post. Again here is the link http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...&threadid=5528

7.)again - http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...&threadid=5528

Good luck
