It is all a matter of personal opinion. With that said, I have a Clie NR70 and an Axim. I have had my Axim for about 3 months now and I love it even more than my Clie.

I was frustrated with the Axim at first because of the difference in operation. At first the Clie seemed much easier to use because everything was right there on the screen-all I had to do was tap on it. With the Axim, there was nothing there and I had to hunt for it.

Then I started trying different today screen add-ons. I asked a lot of questions and read a lot of posts here in the forums. I have learned how to make the today screen have stuff that I want on it. Now I can just tap on a program that I want to use..easy as pie. I can watch full length movies on my Axim. I can listen to music without headphones if I want to (I have to use headphones for my Clie). The games rock! Best of all, no more hotsyncing. I can just drag and drop from my PC! No waiting! :)

Don't get me wrong. I do still love my Clie. But to me it is more limited then the Axim. You will love it!

I have to agree that it is a matter of taste. I was a Palm user up until last year, when I purchased an Audiovox Maestro.

When you first get your Axim, you will have to decide what you want to do with it. It can do every function you previously used your Clie for. However, it can do much more, at the cost of battery life (though this is reduced with the Axim). My advice would be to be patient as you learn the new OS and what it is capable of...AND to recognize that as powerful as the platform is, it does have some limitations.

All in all, you will find over time that you made a good choice. Enjoy your Axim when it arrives, and take some time to explore some of the new power you will have. You can check out software at Handango, PocketGear, and other places, and hit this site and Pocket PC Thoughts frequently to see the new things that come along for it almost every day.

Have fun!

It is definitely a matter of taste. When I got my first PocketPC, I went with the PocketPC because at the time it was the only PDA that had a color screen. I got the Compaq Aero, by the way. So when I upgraded, I stayed with PocketPC because that is what I was used to. That was when I got the Casio EM-500. From using one of my friend's Palms, I like PocketPC more just because it is more like Windows and I am used to using Windows.
