Email setup question

In Outlook Express and Outlook both, you have the option of leaving the email on the server. I do this so when I get home, my email still downloads to my home system. Is there a setup for this in the version thats on the Axim?

I assume you are referring to receiving e-mail on your Axim directly from your e-mail server? If so, the e-mail is left on the server after receiving the e-mail on your Axim.

However, when you delete a message on your Axim it is moved into the Deleted Items folder. When you empty the Deleted Items folder all corresponding messages are also deleted from the server the next time you connect (i.e. send/receive).

You can specify how this Deleted Items folder is emptied. There are 3 options:
1) Immediately
2) On Connect/Disconnect
3) Manually

I have mine set to Manually so all deleted messages remain on the server until I manually empty the folder. This seems to work well for me. This also gives me the option to selectively delete/empty individual messages from the Deleted Items folder, rather than the entire folder.

To check/set this option, from your Inbox select Tools-Options.... From the Options screen tap on the Message tab. Towards the bottom of the screen you can select the option on how to empty the Deleted Items folder. If you have more than one e-mail service you will need to set this for each service.

So that's the "Default" on the Axim then. EXCELLENT! Thanks for the info.

Yes, that is the "default" as long as you don't empty the Deleted Items folder.
