What Was All That Bs About The Ax Size

Looking back the only thing that I was hearing about the Ax was that it was great if you could stand the size!!!!!!!!!!!

Except for the new lame HP Ipaq, which is expandable as a balloon with a hole in it, all the Compaq’s are larger if you match them up with all the external devices to match the Axes capabilities.
and
The Jornada's are gone!
The Toshiba's are well Toshiba's
Need I say more!

I find NO major difference in size for a device that is this capable.

That is like trying to say that because a GEO is so small and compact that its overall “worth” is much more desirable because of it's size. According to those that say the Axim is so big then my GTO is no match for the GEO. Remember when we are talking PDA's performance and what you use it for is most important. Those $200 Palms are pretty much like the old 256k Casio Data calculators now.

By the way they always say that "SIZE MATTERS" and in the Axim case it is BIG on performance and BIG on features and even BIGGER on expandability. All those IPAQers can just take their expansion sleeves and stuff them where............... well you know the end of that story :)

The bottom line is there is NO major drawback because the Ax is slightly larger. In fact it is the major added features that are built in that make it a better offering to the PDA Gods.

Yeah, what he said!

I was concerned about the size until mine arrived, if you need something that small go ahead and sacrifice, my father-in-law bought a tungsten T and when he saw my Axim he returned it and bought the Dell

My Axe is MUCH bigger that my old Toshiba E310.

With that said, the amount it is bigger is noticeable, thats about it. It's not a brick and its not a wrist watch. To h377 with those reviewers.

It also feels M U C H stouter and more solid in build.

IMHO, there is an issue also when things get so small that they become more fragile or un-usable. The Axe is an almost perfect size. People will have their opinions on it. I love my Axe. I will never complain about the size of this PDA.

I read in some newsgroup that the Axe will never make it in the marketplace! Even critized that Dell sells cheap printers like Lexmark and they have no place in selling PDAs. Hahahahaha. Some people! Top awards from almost all PDA magazines!

I can't complain about the Axims size. It is a lot smaller than my older PDA; Casio EM-500. I really have nothing else to compare it to.

I also had the Casio EM-500 and was worried about the size, but for the price (and the needed upgrade to X-scale) I thought what the hell. I was extremely suprised when I saw it after all the reviews complaining about how large it was. :)

I was surprised about the size when I recieved mine, I thought it would be the size of a tablet PC, instead it's around the size of an Ipaq, maybe a little shorter, but it pretty much carries Ipaq like features and performance.

This PDA is a steal, and Dell wants market share, the only people complaining are HP employees and Palm OS lovers.

I can't wait to see the Axim X7.:D

overall it's almost exactly the size of a palmIII, as it fits in my palm III case. Its wider than a visor. and a lot bigger than a sony 610c. Well thats all my PDAs so far. I perfer a slighly smaller size, but I can deal with the size for what I get. I mean NES, not gameboy, but NES. It's amazing. Too bade there isn't a good graphing calculator... if only powerone releaded it's graphing calculator for PPC.
