Mad Should I Be Upset With Dell? (long rant)

OK, I patiently waited 3 weeks for my Axim to arrive "Ohh, there is a really high demand for them. It's understandable." I told myself. I loved my Axim so, much that I found I needed an extra battery and an AC adapter at home as well as at work. So on 2/26 I ordered an extra battery, AC Adapter, and a 3-pack of stylus. They gave me a ship date of 3/20. I assumed that they were just padding the ship time so they didn't have to worry about complaints of late shipments. Well here it is 3/12 and so sign of my accessories shipping. Why is it taking them so long to ship the accessories? I can understand with the Axim, you have to build them, and they are complex devices. Why wouldn't they have a stock pile of AC Adapters and batteries?

Another thing that is bothering me is the snap-on thumb keyboard. I was thinking it would be nice to have such a device to help me take notes etc... Why do they not list the thumb keyboard in the keyboard section of the accessories page? We have to go into the educational section just to get a picture of it. And if you want to order it, you have to call them because you can't order it on-line. How hard is it to put the thumb keyboard on the correct page?? {sigh} I was a HUGE dell supporter before I bought my Axim. I have recommended family members and several friends to Dell. Now I am not so sure. I am very happy with the Axim, it is just frustrating that they can't get the little details right.

I can't see any reason to be upset. It's no where near the ship date. Getting mad something wasn't shipped early seems a bit silly.

Mike,

Greeting from Motown, home of the 2002 Stanley Cup Champions (had to get that in, after your Red Wings comment a few days ago). Axim is worth the wait. I carry it with me all the time. Just installed a Lexar 256mb SD Card and put some MP3's on it and listen using PocketMusic. To me, it sounds good. The keyboard, in my opinion is a waste. Due to the size, I can write faster than using that small keyboard. Hope it arrives soon.

More than likely the thumb board isn't easy to find and order because they do not have a very large supply of them. When the 3400 battery was first released, I had to call and order it over the phone, too.

I was wondering about the 3400 battery, too. I wish I would have known you could order it over the phone before I bought the lower capacity battery. All well, at least the Axim is a good product.

Is the higher capacity battery much thicker/bulkier than the normal battery? If so, will my Axim be able to fit in the standard Dell case using the larger battery?

The battery adds about one-fourth of an inch to the Axim. If by standard Dell case, you mean the case that the Axim came with, yes it will still fit. As for the optional leather case, I honestly have no idea.

Thanks guys, that's good to know! I really need a higher capacity battery now that I'm using my wifi more and more each day.
