Upgrade for ppc 2003 no longer available?

I dont see the upgrade anymore on the Dell website..Anyone have any information why they removed it?

Now wait a minute, and AS77 can vouch to this. It was availible on the Dell US Web Site a couple weeks ago. Someone posted a link to it on the Dell forums. So, I'm assuming that the upgragde has once again been taken off of their site?

Is there any where other than Dell that you can get the ROM update?
Have to admit that it would be nice is MS would do a "Universal" ROM that would work with any manufacture's PPC, but that would fall under "Keeping our Customers Happy and Keep them doing Business with us."

No, you cannot get it legally anywhere else. Sometimes people sell it on e-bay but it can only be legal if it is sealed and unopened.

A Google or other search should turn up a working upgrade kit. I've posted italisized clues in another of these threads, which is already pushing things a little... Just be clever about your search terms. 5 or 6 words, trying variations, should net you a ZIP file which resides within the continental US. Russian and other sites seem only to offer ROM images which must be modified with a HEX editor, something I found impossible to get right, and scary too. A clean upgrade package is what you need. And a little extra confidence might be had in noting that the home page of the host indicates sponsorship by Bill and the misses. ;)
