Transferring from microsoft word to Axim X5 Word
First let me just say this is a wonderful site and have helped me so much. Second, I hope this is in the right place. Now the question! Can some one give me step by step instructions on how to transfer from microsoft word from the computer to my dell Axim X5 and visa versa. The reason I asked is because when I partnered my desktop with my PPC I didn't see word in the list of items that transfer information when you partner with the computer. I did see, outlook, calendar, task, contacts and something else but not word. When I tried to transfer word I had to put it in the general file and it was so large I couldn't see but two to three words at a time, what did I do wrong. You can email me anytime.

You should be able to sinc with the my documents folder that was installed on your desktop for the PPC when you installed active sinc. from there if you place word files there it should sinc with your pda. there might be some formatting changes but not much.good luck :approve: :approve:

That's not entirely accurate.
Okay, first off, if you have a PocketPC you have Pocket Word. That's part of the core and you couldn't delete it if you wanted to. You could remove the shortcuts, but the app will always be there.
Now, as far as syncing files, first you have to make sure that you've gone into ActiveSync on your PC and told it you want to sync Files (there's a checkbox for that, just like for your Inbox, Contacts, etc.).
Now, having done that, you should see folder WITHIN your My Documents folder on your workstation. This folder will be something like My PocketPC Documents, or My Axim Documents. The name of the folder will match whatever you named your PocketPC. THIS folder is the one that gets sync'd with your PDA. So, drop any Word files you need into this folder and you'll see your little ActiveSync icon change to yellow as it recognizes there's new things to sync up. When it goes back to green, you will be able to look in the My Documents folder on your Axim and see your Word files are there.
