Remote Desktop

hi all,

I wanna be able to control my desktop pc via my axim 5. now i have got terminal services running and i can actually control the pc from my axim over my network. However when i connect to the Desktop pc i can see the desktop on my pocket pc but the desktop pc goes to a black screen with user name and password. My question is - is there a way i can control my destop pc from my axim, and see what i am doing on my pocket pc on the desktop monitor. So i can start up videos and such from my pocket pc on my desktop pc? I hope this makes sense to somebody

Any help much appricated

I don't think you can do what you're talking about with Terminal Services - it forces a logoff on the remote machine, and I don't think there's any way to change that behavior.

Just curious - if you're close enough to see your PC monitor, why do you want to use TS to control it anyway?

Don't pay for a VNC client. That's ridiculous... it's a free, open standard and there are free clients out there.

www.realvnc.com will get you a server to run on your PC...

http://www.cs.utah.edu/~midgley/wince/vnc.html <-- and there's the PocketPC client.

See, if you had said that in your FIRST post, we could have saved you some time. :)

I don't expect that Remote Desktop software will be the best solution for what you're doing... the screen refresh rate just isn't good enough to watch video.

What you really need is solution which provides streaming video from your desktop that you can connect to with WMP or some other video stream viewer. I haven't played with this myself... I know others here have... try using the search function. :approve:
