Hi all. Is anyone using the Axim to connect thru Citrix MetaFrame? I really would like to do this w/ my PPC and was curious if anyone has already tried it. Thanks in advance for all the replies.

Should work fine. I know Citrix has a client for the PPC.

Yes, Citrix has a client for Windows CE. I have the client ready to go, and as soon as all my wireless equipment comes in I will be using it very often to manage my Citrix server farm. That was one of the reason I went for the Axim. What version of Metaframe are you using?

Using MeteFrame 1.8 over WinNT TSE getting ready to move to MetaFrame XP over W2K Server. I'll be getting my Axim and other equipment in about 2 weeks. Already downloaded the software and waiting :) Plz let me know how the performance is when you start using. Thanks :)

I will let you know. I'm upgrading to Metaframe XPa as soon as the software gets here, so that will be a good test. Right now I run 1.8 on 2000. My wireless stuff should be here soon also...I can't wait!

I've tested Citrix with some good results and some bad. Running published aps from various Metaframe servers (windows and unix). Some aps don't run and I get an error back that the metaframe server could not be found on the specified address. Must have something to do with the the Metaframe install on those servers, but have not had a chance to talk with sys admin to see what the difference is. Also ran an oracle forms application and had no way to move around the form, screen tap did not work. On the good side I have a few aps running well, if I can just get used to the screen scroll box - it drives me nuts.

Have you tried running any SQL Server management utilities? I have Enterprise Manager and Query Analyzer on my Citrix boxes that I am hoping will work. Waiting for this equipment is killing me! It's almost as bad as when I was waiting for my Axim! :)

ditto! waiting is the worst part :)
I don't have any big expectations from the Citrix Client. I just want to be able to do basic admin stuff remotely (which I do from a notebook right now.) Will post impressions once I start fiddling around.

Sorry no SQL Server, we only run Oracle from Unix servers. I'm going to try and find out more about why some aps will not run from some servers. I have one application installed on two different servers, one production and one test/development. Both are running Metaframe XP, I can conect to the production server but get server not found on the other, have no idea why.

Are you connecting to a published app on both servers or directly to the IP?

I used to manage two HP-UX servers running Informix. I really miss the days of Unix...they were so reliable. Now it's all SQL server on Windows 2000....with the regular reboot :P

I have the ICA client for the Axim and have had ggod results. I only publish the desktop though not individual applications. I like the plus and minus. They seem to work very well. My only complaint is that I am unable to rotate the screen sideways. I wish they would put this feature in the client.
I can switch all my movies (Thanks Aximsite!) but I can't rotate my Citrix or TS connection??? :(
Now if could just get work to install wireless.
If it maters we use Metaframe XP on 2000.
Thanks,
Rodney

I've contected to Citrix with my Axim, using the download from the Citrix website. I connect through AT&T's download and my Siemens S46 cell phone. Have had no problems, except for the speed.
