Adding items to the today page

Hello
Ok I hope I am calling it right.
I want to take some thing from my start page. The page that drops down when you hit start and add it to my today page. I would call it a desk top page on my computer.
Any way to do this?
Thanks

Piece of cake

You do just like you would from the Windows desktop. Use File Explorer and navigate to My Device\Windows\Start Menu. There's your list of applications that show up when you click on your Start button. Delete the ones you don't want.

Desktop

Hi

There are several ways to do this. My personal favorite is SPB Pocket Plus. This will allow you to create icons to launch from the desktop, as well as includes some other really nice features.

If you are looking for free try cdlaunch, claunch, or some of those. They are basic launchers. You can find them at http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com

When on the site, be sure to first click the Union Jack for english and you can do a search for "launch." It should return around 10 to 15 programs that will let you do this. While, there you should check out the rest of the freeware! :)

Best of luck!!

For a Today screen task manager, like tmn72, I use Pocket Plus. A must-have for me .

Features

Today Plug-in:
Tabs. Battery, backlight, memory indicators, drag-and-drop, ...

File Explorer:
ZIP support, "Folder Up" button, Storage card format, file properties, ...

Close Button:
The close (X) button really closes programs, task manager, ...

Pocket Internet Explorer:
Multiple windows, full screen mode, save as, view source, ...

Misc:
Taskbar battery indicator, extended Pocket PC themes, backup/restore, ...

Dashboard or DashToday Advanced

Go to www.snoopsoft.com and check out either one. Dashboard allows complete reskinning of the Today page and actually makes it into several Today pages, each with a separate focus: Mail, Programs, Contacts, Tasks, etc.

DashToday takes those same modules, but lets you layer them as plug-ins to the single Today page. You can't re-skin the page, but of course it lets you use whatever Today theme you want. I prefer the Dashboard because not only can I reskin the page, the background image can be different for each screen.

Better Interface?

Thanks for the info.
I have a follow up question to this one...

Does anyone know if any of the above mentioned programs allow you to keep your Appointments displayed on your Today screen?

I like the idea of having quick launch icons without loosing the ability to still see my daily Appointments. I tried the demo version of eXperience (from http://www.digitalexpedition.com/mai...experience.htm), but you can't do anything with the demo version except make a nice pretty desktop (with non-functional icons). I'm guessing that the full version won't allow me to keep my Appointments in the forefront... Does anyone else use this program or any other where I can have the best of both worlds?

Also, is there any way to get around using the (inconvenient) Switcher Bar to close programs. Is there some way to make the "X"'s in the corners of my windows actually close the programs rather than minimize them?

Thanks,

ApeMan

SPB Pocket plus is just a today plugin, so you can have your other plugins visible also. Included with pocket plus is a close function which allows you to close programs instead of just minimizing them.
