Changing Sounds

I've seen some programs that use the speaker to play some sounds. Does anyone know of an app that allows you to assign sounds (wav,mp3) to alarms or notifications.

I am a hard core Science fiction reader and I have downloaded numerous Star Trek computer sounds. Just downlaod the ones you like (I did mine to my SD card) Open up settings, open sounds and notifications, at teh bottom of the screen open notifications and then each event can have a sound associated with it. Almost idiot proof. Only problem is, tome, that there are nto really a lot of events that you can associate a sound file to. I have been looking for some type of programe that would generate an event but no such luck. I have downloaded WinAmp, a free MP3 palyer and can paly my sound files with it and let it run. You can do the same with the Windows media player.

Glad I could help. we all have been newbies at one time. I have learned a lot on this site and more importantly (to me) is that when a problem affects one of us it can potentially affect all of us so that when all of the collective minds start working on the problem it gets solved or at the very least identified quickly.........Oh my Gosh we are the BORG.
