Question X5 Manual...

I know this is available online in pdf format, but for the life of me I cannot find it...anyone have this handy?

I need to know how to do a hard reset ASAP and I cannot remember!

Hard Reset = Hold Power Button and Reset Button down at the same time :)

I do a hard reset every 6 - 9 months just to clear out all the cobwebs. Takes me an hour or two to reinstall (or I reinstall from a "clean" backup) and then I have a better performing PDA again.

i have found that it is best to start clean and install programs from scratch, ends up making a faster pda :) (when you restore from a backup it isnt always as nice and fast)

i do it every few months or as needed :), takes me about an hour to get everything back and like normal :)

If you go to the dell support site, support.dell.com and click on user guides then select PDA and Axim X5, you can dowload the appropriate PDF file.

Hope this helps.

In response to Axim x5er...I installed a program call JS Landscape that allows you to change the aspect ratio of your display (i.e. widescreen in stead of vertical) I thought it would be handy for viewing pdfs and spreadsheets...but when I set the display to horizontal, I accidentally changed the resolution to an unsupported value and it froze on the blue Dell Screen during the soft reset the program needs to implement changes...

Axim X5

Here's a website that has a manual on the X5 and it's in pdf format and is free.

Have GPS, but no setting info!

I need to know the compact flash port number and baud rate. An app I recently loaded is quite nice, but won't talk to the GPS unit yet and under settings is asking for com port and baud which I can't find anywhere... especially in the users manual (which is easily located from a google search under x5 users manual).

Any ideas?
