trouble recognizing SD card

I purchased a 256mb sd card and my x5 doesnt seem to recognize it.When i went to sync music, it recognizes my device but it doesnt show the card so i can put the mp3 files in it.Any help would be appreciated.

im using the dell sync cradle and windows media player 10 on my pc.

1) What kind of card? (manufacturer)
2) Statement: you need an external card reader. It's faster, and you can use it to check to see if the SD card is truly readable.
3) Statement: don't move files with USB sync. It's slow and sometimes error prone. Get the external card reader. They're cheap.
4) What version of ActiveSync do you have? 3.8 is available for free from Microsoft.
