Grrrr...

Went around after work looking for some toys and help found nothing..

trying to find a wifi card
protective plastic cover for the screen
a case

Went to best buy, they have shit for compatibility for the x5, hardly anything in stock nothing but ipaq crap.

Went to comp usa, they had protective covers but nothing saying compatible for the x5 or anything like it.

Same at staples except the fact that like 3 guys all in red shirts were shooting the shit with each other to even ask me to help i should of stole a few lab tops while i was being ignored.

I saw one case by Berkin or something but it was metal not bad but kinda bulky nothing as slim as the x5 itself.. wich kinda is pointless to carry around a huge box for my little comp...

no one has wifi cards anywhere... wtf

also protective plastic slip covers... are those universal they had like 20 diff kinds for hp models, ipaq, and every other pocket pc and pda except anything suitable that i could use..

Generally you will have better luck finding things online for Axims.

Dell has no real B&M Presence, even for most third party accessories.

Click on some of the advertisers here on AximSite (and help Chris out a bit), or try eBay.

Can't help with the wifi card, you could get a x50v. Just kidding.

for the screen I recomend BoxWave either the crystal or anti-glare are good.

And for a case, I use the RhinoSkin hard case.

Good Luck!

Adam

PS - you will have a hard time finding anything for Dell products in any stores. :realmad:

Online is the way to go

90% of what you might want for the X5 is going to have to come from the Internet. As far as cases, the options are endless. A couple of the primo makers are Vaja and Sena--I have a Vaja case for my iPaq 3630 and the Sena black and red for my X5.

WiFi cards are guaranteed to be way too expensive at regular stores...if you can even find them [getting on soapbox] and it it amazes me at CompUSA, Best Buy, etc., almost all you can find are stupid PCMCIA cards (who in blazes uses those bulky pieces of junk these days?) and MAYBE an Ambicom card tucked away in some dark corner of the behind-the-counter display that the salesperson is completely clueless about. These stores need to drop the PCMCIA cards and get with the times--CF and SD [climbing off soapbox].

As far as protective sheets, I don't much look for X5 specific sheets. I've used two different brands, just looking to see if the screen dimensions are the same. It doesn't bother me if the sheet is 1/32 of an inch too short since you can barely tell and I never tap that close to the edge anyway. If it's a hair too long I either trim it with an exacto or carefully tuck it under the bottom lip of the casing. I've never had an issue and I can get them anywhere the sheets are sold.

well, you can't go into a store (except some malls have Dell kiosks) and buy an Axim, so why would you expect to find many accessories in stores?
