Connecting to ISP

Everytime I try to connect with MSN or AOL or another ISP I get the one of the following responses.

1.) NO Carrier

2.) Wrong user name or password --BUT I AM SURE THEY ARE RIGHT

3.) Unable to connect for unknown REASON


I AM STARTING TO THINK IT MIGHT BE THE CF MODEM. I am using the old yellow label 56k [COLOR=red]flash CF modem from COMPAQ.

When I insert the card I get no prompts for new hardware. In the modem log it says Compact 56 card but I am not sure if it is actually reconizing my card. I think it should say COMPAQ flash card or PRETEC CF card as they are both the same. I don't think I need to install any drivers as they are already installed on the card. (PLUG AND PLAY)

Please give me any ideas that you guys might have.

I also have problem connecting to my ISP. I have Ambicom 56K CF Modem. Anyone having any kinda clues???
