PIE favorites disappearing?

Many sites have been disappearing on my favorites list. It always seems to happen when I leave my home WLAN and hook up with another. Sometimes all my favorites disappear or just a few of them.
Today for example I went to get a haircut. While waiting I noticed there just so happened to be a WiFi signal in the area. I access the web no problem, hit my favorites icon and see that only 3 out of maybe 10 are still there.
The few that were left were added within the last 24 hours.

This is getting real annoying. Now when I get home and sync up the rest of them on the X5 disappear yet they are still all listed on my PC's mobile favorites.

I've done a search on this forum and see that quite a few others have had the exact same problem yet not one post has received a single reply.

Anybody know what is going on?

No idea why that's doing that, or how to stop it. However, I can suggest a work-around; Keep a HTML file of your bookmarks on your PPC. In IE, the easist way would be to export your mobile favorites as Netscape bookmark. Save the bookmark.htm file that it creates on your PPC.

Are your disappearing favorites in folders?

Might they be disappearing during syncs?

If you create mobile favorites within folders from your desktop browser, they seem to survive syncs, whereas those created on your PPC tend to disappear during syncs.

Thanks for the hints guys.

So far no luck. I made a new folder and everything was deleted from that one too.
The mobile favorites do appear on my PC after docking so either way they should have synced back up with the X5, right? How do I go about setting a master and slave? I never noticed anything like that in any of my settings. My X5 is PPC 2002 and my desktop is using Window ME.

The one easy solution was just to uncheck favorites from my ActiveSync menu. It doesn't try to sync them anymore so the problem is gone. I have no use to sync the favorites so it's no big deal I guess. :)

Not sure, but I think it may depend on whether the favorites in folders were actually created on your computer and not just synced with your computer. Give it a try and see if that makes a difference.

Good luck!

They appear just fine on my main computer's IE.

In the PIE, only the ones that are in the root of "mobile favorites" and the subdirectories themselves appear. To check/refresh the links I copied and then deleted the ones on my desktop and they all left in PIE. Then I moved them back on my desktop and only a few directories now have links in them. Very strange.
