Sync with lotus notes - Upgrade information

My company use Lotus notes and after reading posts on this absolutly brill site I decided to pursuade my company to go with Cadenza from Commontime. This has installed first time sync's first time with no double entries no missing items.

I did have one problem with locations not syncing from PC to AX but syncing OK from AX to PC. One call to their tech dept sorted that out. For those who already have Cadenza make sure you have the upgrade to version 3.0.190 this solves this problem. You can dowload this from their site.

The main reason for me posting this is to let you know about their excellent tech support. I have spoken to them a number of times and they have been very helpful. They know their product inside out and they go out of their way to help. They provided me with support even when I was only running the trial licence.

Cadenza gets my vote. If you use lotus notes and you don't want any further problems with Sync try it.

I had the same problem with the new 3.0 version. Locations on all new appointments would be wiped out on both places on desktop and PDA. One user in my office stopped synching until they got the problem solved. However the latest release has fixed the problem going forward.

I agree that Commontime support even over the internet email is top notch. I wouldn't want to use anything else after having tried many others.

Cool

I like to hear that the support for Cadenza is top notch. The company that I work for is going to mNotes also. I've only used it in a testing environment, and never had a problem. Plus, Intellisync's new version 5.12, will not support the multiuser install of Notes that we are using on XP.

Two thumbs up for Cadenza.

:p

Cool Syncing with Lotus Notes

My company also uses Lotus Notes. There is a program called Intellesync that allows you to sync Notes and your Axim. It is $70.00 and is available online from pumatech.com A coworker also found it at Office Depot yesterday with a $20 rebate.

Cadenza is Ok by me

I struggled with the issue of syncing Lotus notes for several weeks and investigated several options. Bottom line I went with Cadenza and for the last several weeks it has been top notch. I have not had to call the service / support center becasue it has just worked flawlessly. Its nice to get a quality product...of course the price was a little steep but the company picked it up so I just have to justify the budget...:p

I read somewhere - probably on this site - that the cadenza product comes with a lotus notes thin client that loads to your PPC. Have any of you used it for remote access to notes - and if so how did it work?

I have used Cadenza mNotes to remotely call in and synchronize with a CF modem. IF you have Cadenza loaded and running on your desktop and connected to the network, it is possible to dial into the network and sync by going thru your desktop. All you need to do is set up a new location in mNotes on your Axim which specfies the connection to use for dial in and then give it the IP address of your computer. Synching remotely is then just a matter of tapping the Replicate button once you have selected that location to use. The Axim will dial in which allows you to enter needed log in infor for your network and automatically sync your LN from the server to your Axim.

Great feature especially if you don't want to lug around your laptop or desktop. The Axim and CF card and maybe keyboard are much small and lighter to take to the road.

I believe Commontime offers a server synching software where many PDAs can sync to the server without going thru the desktop. I haven't had experience with it as I only used it with my desktop computer.

How did you find you had version 3.0.190? My About screen reports just 3.0.1, and when I downloaded the latest from commontime, it reports the same.

Thanks for the info. Mine shows 3.0.1 too and I wondered if there was a later version with the .19

My experience with Intellisync for Pocket PC with Lotus Notes was abysmal at best. After repeated open tickets and no solutions, I moved to mNotes Cadenza, and haven't looked back.

I have been unable to install the 3.0.1 update for some reason, but I have nothing but good things to say about CommonTime and their product.

send a note to support@commontime.com and they will send you step by step instructions to get you going. I think I had to uninstall on the desktop first that then reload new version. They warned about saving the KEY somewhere but don't think I had to go get it in the new install as it was seeded in place when the Key screen came up.

Commontime is very responsive via email especially if you send it to them in the morning. However if you wait until afternoon it is too late in the UK and you might not get a response until 3 AM the next morning.

I think you will like 3.0.1 much better than the older versions.

I have contacted them via their support website, and I am waiting for their response. They are a fine bunch.
