Hi guys...I'm looking for CF cards and hit upon the dell accessory store online. They have Simpletech 256 MB CF cards for 89 dollars but theres 10% off on everything so thats about 80....then there's a $20 manufacturer rebate so it comes to around $60 + free shipping!! The best deal I've found....:)

That is a nice deal -- $70 after shipping. I am an advocate, however, of getting SD memory -- if you ever think you might want/need any of the myriad CF expansion devices out there (WiFi, Bluetooth, camera, etc.). A bit more expensive per MB, but worth it -- if you like the expandability.

Just my 2c,

Just read this thread and went to Dell's site. After looking at the CF memory deals they are running, isnt the Lexar a better deal? It's also a 256MB CF card but has the ability to connect via USB to your pc and act as an external hard drive. This seems like a very easy way to get your MP3s or whatever to your card without tying up the Axim during the transfer. Anyone else agree?

I agree with rhyno. I have a 512 meg flash card (some previous application) and a wireless flash card. Can't use them both in the Axim at the same time. Consider an SD memory card and keep the CF slot available for other stuff like networking.

believe it or not amazon is cheaper. they will ship for free too. no rebate hassles there. I have never failed to get a rebate on an item bought there.

Just so you notice, these posts were from back in January. So there have been lots of price decreases everywhere since then.

www.buy.com or www.amazon.com both can have amazing deals. Sometimes w/ rebates, sometimes not....its all hit and miss, you can find a great deal, and not be able to find it the next day, but thats where I found my best stuff.

Try it

Just received a 256Mb CF card (Kingston) from Dell. Price after rebate was $31 (free shipping). Unfortunately, the rebate expired on April 30.

Try calling Dell Non tech Customer Service. I bought a 256 MB CF card early April. It was advertised with Axim Accessories with 15% memory discount and $10.00 MIB. I did not carefully read the MID until I received the card. The MID was 10 bux off if I ordered a digital camera within a certain amount of time of card purchase. I called claiming I was disappointed with the way it was listed as $10 MIB with AX. She claimed she would credit my account for the MIB price I thought. She credited my account the full price I paid for card. That was a DAM HOT deal.
