I emailed Dell asking for my tracking number, since I hadn't gotten one yet. They promptly replied with my tracking number, and I went to UPS.com to see where my Axim was. The UPS site says they never got the package from Dell. I call UPS and they confirm this. I called Dell and the message said my hold time would be long due to high call volumes. 4 minutes later, I got a rep (nice!). She said all the Dell systems were currently "updating" and that I'd have to call back in two hours. She did advise possible explainations for the missing package, but advised that I call back in a couple hours to find out for sure...

Sooo...that's where it stands. My Axim is lost. :(

From my experience it is probably not lost. I got my tracking number and and immediatly checked it and UPS said the tracking number didn't exist in their system (according to the web site). I checked it again the next day and low and behold the tracking number was now working. I believe they batch a lot of this stuff as it is probably easier to dump a whole bunch of tracking numbers into the system all at once rather than do them all realtime. This has happened to me with other package handlers like FedEx and Airborne Express. Fear not, you will get your Axim! :D As we all have. Of course if your tracking number doesn't work in the next 2 days then you may want to do some further investigation. Hope this makes you feel better.

Well, a little update to my situation.

I called back and Dell's computers were back up and running. I was on hold for only 4 minutes, and the rep agreed with me that Dell hadn't sent the package to UPS yet. He said he would send out an express order through his supervisor ASAP to have my package sent out, and overnight delivered to me at Dell's expense (previously, I was to get 3 day ground shipping).

So, we'll see if that happens. I'll check my order status page tonight to see if indeed it gets shipped out to UPS today.
