I can't get the Dell setup.exe program for the update to run. Everytime I try to run it, I get an error saying "caution.. connect your device to a computer using a sync cable or cradle..."
This is strange, because the Axim is in the cradle and the Activesync program says that it is syncrhonized.
Any ideas?
It's just a warning. Continue on....

i am downloading it now, im sort of confused though, reading all of the replies, i wonder if it will work? well i only have to wait 3 more minutes, will see:rolling:
I just got my Axim last week. Would it be possible that Dell has already installed this latest patch in my unit? How can I check my Axim to see if the patch is there or not? Please help!

Thanks!
The easiest way is to go into your settings and see if the Navigator Button is in there.

I installed the new ROM upgrade to my Axim today, restored my files and everything went great! However, now I get duplicate Reminders whenever I have a scheduled appt? For instance, if I have a meeting, the reminder window pops up and has "Meeting" twice in it and everything about both meetings are the same? If you look in the Calendar, all it shows is one meeting? Any ideas on how to clean this up?
Just Tried...Got to 83% File copy, and got an error message...Glad I did a full backup...Luckly unit reverted to current rom (Problem occured before flashing stage)...tried a second time with dell on the phone same thing happpened, I'm doing a full restore now, Dell tech support says there is another ROM update right around the corner I think I'llwait

Do an ActiveSync on the PC with the Axim. Then check in outlook on the PC. Check to see how that is shown if there are duplicate listings.
Does seem weird but I am sure there is an obvious solution.
Is the reminder on the today screen what is the specific application. I myself found a flaw in Calendar+ on recurring appointments that were multiday (started say at 10 pm and went through to 6 am the next day).
I just did the upgrade, everything went OK.
Only one thing, when I do an soft reset
I get an error "cannot find 'mbutton.exe' or one of its components ..."
Does anyone have an idea from what programm this is?
I updated my wifes Axe today. Flawless and did it in about 20 mins.
I cleaned MY CF card and used it to BU her data using the PPC BackUp. I know people know where it is but.. Start-Programs-Data Backup. Change the restore to the CF and let it do its thing. Update the Axim and then use Restore, the same way and viola (intended pun).
I just did the update. It worked great! I decided that since my Axim neded some house cleaning, I did clean installs on all of the software I had on it. I did sync to get back my to-do, calender and contact list info...

Both the calendars on the PC and on the Dell only show one appointment? I know what you are talking about as in the past I have had multiple appointments, but not this time? Now, I am using PocketInformant and I have been in discussions with them but they say that they are just using an API to the calendar so their program could not cause it? They are nice guys, but saying that their application could not cause the problem are "Famous Last Words"! Being a Development Manager, I don't know how many times I have had to eat those comments!

Make sure that you have the Axim plugged into the power outlet, and make sure you have absolutely nothing else running on your computer. Also, you might want to try doing a hard reset before trying the upgrade.
